Our LPN Charge Nurses are skilled professionals who perform a wide range of duties that support the comfort, safety, and well-being of our residents:
- Administering a patient’s temperature, blood pressure, and other fundamental measures
- Carrying out basic patient care functions such as replacing a wound dressing or inserting a urinary catheter
- Continuously monitoring the patient's condition, including any shifts in their physical or mental state, and informing the RN Unit Manager or attending Physician immediately of any changes
- Mindfully absorbing a patient's narrative about their family members
- Assisting patients with preparing for their care, explaining the procedures directed by their doctors, and noting any apprehensions or complaints they express
- Executing medication administration prescribed by physicians to patients
- Furnishing vaccinations to people
- Helping or instructing CNA/NAs to provide excellent care to our patients
Qualifications/Requirements:
- This practical nurse complies with all federal and state licensure laws, regulations, and standards necessary to provide patient care
- Patient education is another competency skill that nurses must possess, ensuring that patients have the knowledge and skills necessary to manage their conditions and achieve optimal health outcomes
- Advancements in technology have allowed for the development of EMRs that can be accessed from a variety of devices, further improving the accessibility of patient information and enhancing collaboration between healthcare professionals
- Someone who has fulfilled all the requirements of a practical nursing training program and received certification from an accredited school
