Our LPN Charge Nurses play a crucial role in ensuring that our residents receive the highest standard of care possible, through a range of medical and personal services:
- Checking a patient's temperature, blood pressure, and other vital signs to determine if further medical attention is required
- Performing essential duties related to patient care, including swapping a bandage or placing a catheter
- Systematically examining the patient's physical and emotional condition, alerting the Physician or RN Unit Manager to any irregularities, and taking necessary steps to address these concerns
- Attentively hearing a patient narrating details concerning their loved ones
- Walking patients through their treatment, elucidating the medical measures recommended by their physicians, and attending closely to any anxieties or issues they raise
- Dispensing medicine to patients as directed by their physicians
- Dispensing vaccines to patients
- Assisting or coaching CNA/NAs to deliver the best possible patient care
Qualifications/Requirements:
- The practical nurse has fulfilled all the necessary requirements of licensure and maintains a good standing within the profession
- Cultural competency skills are necessary for nurses to care for a diverse patient population and provide care that is respectful of each patient’s beliefs, values, and preferences
- In today's healthcare landscape, EMRs have become the norm for documenting patient information, streamlining the documentation process and improving overall accuracy
- Somebody who has earned a degree in practical nursing from an accredited educational institution
